Privacy policy
Draft. This site is run by parents of Norway JPS students. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. Plain-language version — the full policy will be finalized before launch.
What we collect
- Volunteer sign-ups:your name, email, phone (if you provide it), your child’s grade (no names), and any notes you include.
- Capability map entries:name, email, phone (if provided), child’s grade(s), the skills you’re willing to share, your availability, languages, sponsor connection.
- Suggestions: whatever you put in the form. Name and email are optional.
- Spirit-wear orders:name, email, shipping address (if you choose shipping), and the Stripe payment record. Child’s name only if you provide one as a pickup label.
What we do not collect
- Child names (except as an optional pickup label on a merch order).
- Class or teacher assignments.
- Birthdates, home addresses (except shipping addresses for shipped orders).
- Location, device fingerprints, or cross-site tracking data.
CASL — Canadian anti-spam law
We only send marketing or bulk email to people who have explicitly opted in via a form on this site. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (a confirmation of something you just did, an order receipt, a cancellation) will still be sent even if you haven’t opted into marketing.
How long we keep things
- Volunteer sign-ups: deleted 30 days after the event.
- Capability map entries: kept until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe.
- Merch order records: kept for seven years for Canadian tax purposes.
- Suggestions: kept until we’ve acted on them.
Payments
Spirit-wear payments are processed by Stripe under Dasha’s independent shop. This site never stores credit-card numbers. Donations to the school go through SchoolCashOnline — we don’t see or collect that data.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete your information at any time. Email hello@norwayjps.com.
